He is a member of the Canadian Academy of Engineering and a chief professor in Canada’s nanoscale biological manufacturing. At present, he is a chair professor of the Department of Chemical Engineering and the Department of Physics at the University of Waterloo.
He specializes in research and development of molecular self/co-assembly technologies and targeted material preparation technologies of intelligent biomaterial technologies. He is an international well-known expert in intelligent energy materials, biological nanomaterials, biological interfacial engineering, interfacial thermodynamics, polymer materials, intelligent nanomedicine, intelligent micro-nano devices, nanomaterials, environmental science, interfacial thermodynamics, energy and other interdisciplinary research fields.
He has taken in charge of over 50 scientific research projects with the total settlement amount of over 100 million yuan in Canada, the US, India, Singapore and China in succession. He has published over 200 SCI academic papers and holds more than 120 patents.
